I've been using Social Car for more than a year now. It was a great service at the beginning, but in the last couple of months it just became really bad. Long queues in a heated parking, car with an empty tank... I used it one last time last weekend, and it was a complete mess. It took us 2 HOURS to get out of the parking. We were supposed to pick up the car at 8h30. When we get there, there is a couple of people in front of us in the queue, and they're arguing with the employees about an insurance issue... 10 minutes later, it's our turn. They didn't have a printed copy of our contract like they usually do. The guy tries to print it: the printer doesn't work... He tries whatever he can to get it working, impossible. This lasts for a good 30 minutes, during which a lot of people joined the queue. All of this happens in a hot parking, in the -3, without any ventilation or cell phone reception. The employee then goes to the people after us while we wait: same problem, no contract printed. He then asks all the people of the queue : half of the contracts are missing. He then says we have 3 choices: 1) we somehow print it ourselves; 2) we wait for a magical maintenance man to arrive and fix this issue, but we don't know when; 3) we give up and go home... I sent my friend print it somewhere around, which took another 30 minutes. In the meantime I witnessed a complete crazy show : 20 people or so stacked in an overheated room, the helpless employees running around trying to find missing keys, then a missing car (we literally saw him spend 10 minutes trying to find a car, he had no idea where it was)... We tried to call the customer support immediately, but off course they don't work in the weekend... When we finally have the contract printed, we have the car. It took 1h30. The car is dirty, with sand inside. The tank is almost empty, and we are told to bring it exactly the same, as if we can exactly guess how much gas we are going to use in advance... Then we try to leave the parking : impossible. The card they gave us to leave is rejected. We go back down, he tells us to try to call the help of the parking until someone opens us. We go back up, try again, no answer. Several cars have the same problem, and we are all trying to call the parking help. It took another 30 fucking minutes to leave the parking. The pick up time was 8h30, we left at 10h30. We were late for everything we had planned, we were in a lot of traffic to leave Barcelona... But then the story is not finished, because we tried to call the customer support and it was just a big joke. They had no record of any incident happening there that day. They say we need to give them a proof that the car was given to us late to maybe get a refund for that 2 hours. We went back to the parking to ask for their copy of the contract on which it says the time we left the parking : they do not have any copy, whether digital or physical, and they are accusing us of LYING when we told them what had happened. They said there wasn't ever any problem to exit the parking. So without any physical evidence of what had happened we can't ever get any kind of compensation. Needless to say I'm never going to use that service again, and that I hope this review will help other people avoid doing the same mistake.
